Ocean Universal in Westcourt has a large spearfishing selection. Not surprising — the store was originally Spearfishing Superstore, and spearo gear hasn't gone anywhere.
They carry rail spearguns, camo wetsuits, long-blade fins, low-volume masks, weight belts, floats, dive knives, and spearfishing accessories. It's all chosen for tropical spearfishing — not southern gear that won't last in FNQ.
The name changed to Ocean Universal because they'd already branched into scuba and freediving gear over the years. But the spearfishing range wasn't cut back. It's still a core part of the store.
The team are FNQ spearfishers and know what works on the look at this local reefs.
